Messiah on v4 PAL problem
Messiah on v4 PAL problem –
I'll be brief,
A PAL v4 + messiah, worked great for 3 months, then, suddenly
the following began to happend:
The PS2 starts fine , the game (DVD,DVD-R CD,CDR) loads fine, you can ebven see it start playing or the title screen, but then the disc starts to spin in VERY high speed - and it never stops!
When I turn it off, the eject button doesn't function at all, (no light too). after its off for 5 min, you can repeat what I described.
I disconnected the chip, and the problem still exist, I looked for shorts with my microscope, and MM but I discovered nothing.
I suspect its a component heating but I can't find it.
Any help will be welcome
First thought is that these are games not played over the last 3 months but might be incorrectly assembled rips.
Next, if I recall from my CD/DVD basics, the spinning happens when it's trying to find the groove. Now why should that happen if it's picked up the disk in the first place? Maybe the White Cog adjustment is necessary- i.e. the rails are no longer parallel with the disk. or maybe the tray isn't sitting correctly.
Third, are any of the heat conducting pads missing from the BA chips causing a degradation or something (probably not)?
All games (originals too) cause the same stmptoms.
Do you think unparallel rails can cause a CD to load as usual, and then to start spinning like mad? I really don't know. It spins it unbelivable speed.
And the fact that the eject button doesn't work after that? Isn't it point to a function failure rather then mechanism problem?
10x for your time
