Messiah 'crazy' DVD Movie playback on PAL V3
Are you playing the DVD movies through a VCR (Macrovision)?
Is your SCART lead one with the DVD movie switch?
I have the PS2 conected directly to the TV via RCA (Composite signal, yellow cable), no VCR, no SCART, no switch.
I have checked every single connection, and all seems to be fine.
Every SMT fuse seems to be OK.
I was thinking about the NTSC FIX to be the problem, but I can see NTSC games in full color.
I am lost.
Thanks for your reply Charlie.
I'd suspect one of your jumpers for colour correction, although I'm not sure, that just seems the only out-of-place thing here
Yes, colour correction seems to be the only "out-of-place" thing here... but I have had the colour correction with my old NEO2.2 on the same PS2 and working fine. I will re-check anyway.
Thanks for your reply Gaz
Did you double tap RESET to boot the DVD movie?
Yes, I double tap RESET to boot the DVD movie in the same way as to boot PSX titles... and PSX titles works fine.
I have installed several Messiah chips to friends without problems (v3,v4,v5).
I have just removed the whole Messiah and the color correction jumper. But I still have the same problem.
I have forgoten to tell that I had a NEOMACRO modchip, but it is removed too.
I can see the copyrights some advertisements on some DVD movies, but no more.
you have a short where the macro mod points 5 and 6 were connected on the resistor bank try clearing it with some desoldering braid if the short has been there a while it could have fried the resistor's
Also when you go to install it all again, use the channel tech code for your macro mod as the Neo code has been found to crash the ps2 whilst watching films with both a Messiah and Neo-macro mod.
