When playing PS2 games on CD-R light grinding noise can be heard from the DVD Drive. This is not an issue when playing DVD-R or CD-R PSX games. I've read a thread about the same problem with the Neo 2.2 . I dont' want my laser to wear out in a week, what points should i check ? Thanks

i get that too with my v7

i dont know what it is exactly, but its not like the Neo2.2 the sound is different. i think its just the laser trying to read your media, try burning at a lower speed...eg: 1x or 2x

besides, its nothing like a neo mod. the laser wears out in about 2 1/2 years or more on a neo anyway, so its not an immediate problem......

but id like to hear a professional opinion....

Great, I mean like its not only me
Its only a CD-R problem though right?
When I played Clone Wars on DVD-R and CD-R I heard the clear difference. I dont' think its the speed because i burned the same game at 2x as oppose to 40x. As long as its not goign to die on me in the next 2 years i'm happy. They'll have PS3 mods by than already...LOL

I'm going to record the sound and post it .

nevermind that, its way too low for the microphone to pick up.
Also, do you happen to know any place in canda/ eastern US where I can order a Messiah 2 for a friend, Terry at Foundmy already sold his new shipment .

That is the only way. I'm curious as to why don't they other sites sell Messiah 2 Pro in North America? Is it too expensive?

I only had one PSX backup burned on Pioneer Media at slow speed and it worked without the noise. I made a copy of it on the cheapest media NO BRAND 20 cets a CD at 40X ----results--- NO GRIDNING. The problem is isolated to PS2 CD-R , for some reason i dont' think its the same grinding noise as yours ThADoOD. Charlie if you are reading this post your expert advice.
