The Messiah team have released a diagram for a New clock signal, for v5/v6 DVDr audio problems.

You should use this clock signal from now on!

As an alternative, this has been proven to work (courtesy advice from the Messiah 2 team and tried in the field):
    1. Use twisted pair cable to cancel noise
    2. 1 pole to the CLK point on the motherboard
    3. 1 pole to the nearest GROUND point
    4. At chip end, corresponding pole to chip CLK point
    5. At chip end, corresponding pole to chip GRND point

Whilst on the subject of v5, the diagram from www.messiah2.com for the v5/v6 has an incorrect GND point, i checked with a meter and it is not GND. PS2 will just black screen if this point is used.

This is with a PAL v5, if it makes any difference.

P.S. i used the alt clk point, using thicker wire (same as for + and -) and it works fine, no noise

Has anyone tried using a shielded wire for the clock point. Most of us have an old set of RCA audio cable lying around the house. Just attach the shield to ground, seem like this would be even better than the twisted pair. Just wondering if this has been fixed in a certain revision of the chips. I should be getting mine in a couple of days and I noticed that they have moved the diode and ground points and the chip has a different batch number.

Then the new point of soldering clk provided by the official web, is not a good solution?

Had clock problem on my v5.
I know it is common practice to keep clock connections as short as possible, but I ran the clock wire around the edge of the motherboard to the original clock point and it solved all my audio drop out problems. I think there maybe a problem with induced noise from the power supply.
    My V5 works perfect now.
    Worth a try.

Just thought I'd add that I'd had problems with a couple of ver5's using the old clk point, I tested this new point and the problems disappeared

    naah,
when it comes to electronics everyone is trusted as god... even the messiah team.
There is no need for twisted cable.... to cancel noise, since the 2 wires in the pair DO NOT carry a in-phase and a out-phase signal (GND is always 0v, CLK is 0-5 or less volts).
So you can and should use a shielded cable..... the better it is, the better it works.
the sielding on a simple twisted pair cable is poor, so stick to shielded (eg. RCA cable, audio cable).

Without some more infos i cannot say if you should use a 50 or 75 ohm cable, but it should work anyway (as long as the cable is the shortest possible)
