messiah 2 v1.3 prob

I have a v5 ps2 with a messiah 2 pro v1.3 installed and the ps2 cd r games don't boot. Everything else works fine and i've installed the chip twice, taking it apart and installed it the second time. The solder points are fine on the bios and the cd/dvd controller part. Is it the laser or something? cuz when i load ps2 cd rom games i have to turn the ps2 vertically to make it work. Dvd's work fine horizontally and vertically. I'm using TDK cd r media for my ps2 games and i've tried them before and they work.

non-backup cd-r games work? like a psx game

psx games work fine, backup and original. Ps2 cd-r backups is the only problem.

Have the PS2 backups worked anywehre else? How ere they made?

hmm ive seen this before in the forums but i installed a messiah 2 pro 1.21 and i always test all media formats before i ship the console back out to the customers. maybe its your media ?? i use maxell cd-r 700mb

the ps2 backups are burned using cd to cd copy with cdrwin. they have worked before when i had a neo 2.5 dvd-r in there. i will try new media and see what happens.

oh yeah when i boot the ps2 cd r games they go to a black screen then the rsod and the disk stops spinning. in the beginning it sounds like it would successfully load then just stops.
