Messiah 2 questions?

I have just had my ps2 fitted with a Messiah 2. I have noticed a couple of things that could be problems. My ps2 is a pal v5/6. When I load a NTSC PSone game it only takes about 2/3 of the screen.Its the bottom thats missing. Also in order to get a ps2 game to boot I have to close the tray with the reset button. I thought you could use reset or eject.

I believe that is the result of the ntsc color fix not being done to your chip.
As far as booting goes if you system is on and at the browser screen then inserting the disc and closing the tray will boot. If you have a game already in and loaded then you must reset the system to initialize booting of the disc. It is like this with any origianl game as well.

Just closing the disc tray wont boot the game. The game only boots if I close the tray with the reset button. I haven't had the colour fix done on the console. I believe that they have installed a Magic 3.1 instead of a Messiah 2. I'm going to phone them as soon as they open tomorrow.

to check if you have a messiah2 pro installed and not a clone or a crappy magic 3.1 product .

boot to the browser hit eject insert a game (CDR or DVDR) does it come up? or does it just keep spinning.

It comes up saying please insert a Playstation or Playstation 2 game disc

or they installed a different chip!

The 2/3 screen thing is not due to the NTSC fix not being done - that fix only does B&W to colour not screen size.

only a few chips fix tha 2/3 screen thing with some sort of code that adds extra lines to make the picture larger or so i have been told that is how chips like the dms do it. but that can make text blurry.

Agreed. I've seen Magic chips do it for sure. But Messiah's 1 and 2 have never presented that glitch.

I took it back in today and after booting a few games and games not booting like a messiah 2, they said that it looks like it was fitted with a Magic 3.1 by mistake. They have taken the PS2 and are going to replace it with a Messiah 2.

how came they fit a wrong chip by mistake?

unless of coz they chip so many ps2.
