messiah 2 question –
02-14-2004,02:23 AM
ive fitted a v7 ps2 with a messiah 2 1.33b. the problem: it doesnt boot back ups and the reset button does not function. eject button opens/closes tray and can bring ps2 out of standby but reset button doesnt work. it will not reset the ps2, bring it out of or put it into standby.
ps2 boots originals and browser functions.
anyone had similar problems or know how to address this? thanks

I'm having the exact same problem with a V7. Can you or anyone else suggest a solution?
Console boots originals fine, reset button has light but does not work, console acts as if chip is not there.
Thanks.

The problem is the small resistor on the Messiah chip
there was a batch that was shipped out with 10k Resistors and they are supposed to be 33k..

Fixed reset button. Replaced it with a higher gauge wire and now it works.
Also, i moved my power point to an alt. Don't know which one fixed it. I may have had a cold joint on my power connection. Dunno.
Soo, now my situation is:
Gh-022 V7 w/ M2 1.30 boots everything except backups fine.
22 gauge on power, reset, ground. All else kynar.
Could a faulty clock wire cause a red screen problem?
Thanks.
