Messiah 2 Pro prob –
09-01-2003,06:41 PM
Hi, I installed a Messiah 2 Pro v 1.30 in my friends v 7 ps2 and it worked fine for a couple of months and now nothing works. CD/DVD/CD-R/DVD-r all don't work. I opened the cover to see if the cd spins and it only spins for half a sec then stops totally. This happens to all games including originals. The ps2 booted everything before and now nothing works. Every soldering point is fine, no bridges or anything. Is the ps2 bad or the chip itself messed up?

There is full info on what happens when the disk spins a quarter turn in the FAQ/Guides section.
Have you checked the flat ribbon cables by the disk drive? Has a clampo come off?

We are using TDK CD-R media, and Butterfly DVD-R media. I'll check the cables to make sure they are alright.

can it be that my BA chip has died and need a replacement? What is the function of the BA chip anyway?

If the BA chip was blown most likley it would blow a fuse also and you would get NO VIDEO OR SOUND if this was the case. Also check the laser ribbion cable at both ends it may be loose or misaligned.

Maybe the fuse is blown. What fuse would it be and where is it located? Pictures are much appreciated.
