Messiah 2 Pro and Imports

Hi,
Im new here, just liek to say Nice site... Now to my problem -

I have a V4 PS2 Messiah 2 Pro that I fitted. It plays Everything (Backups, Origianls Etc Etc) BUT I have just bought an NTSC Imported version of Gran Turismo 4 and it wont boot.

After Closer inspection of the game / case and reading up on this, I have found out that the Disc is a Hong Kong Silver Pressed disc... Is there a special way to boot these??

As I said the Chip works Perfcetly (Boots everything I throw into it) But this game will not work... Is there a certain point used by the Chip to boot imports / HK Silvers?

Or could it be that the PS2 is very picky about Disc Quality??

Hmm strange - GT4 is a Dual Layer disc, but the Messiah that I had in my v3 booted import Xenosaga fine (also Dual Layer). Maybe there is a modchip-detection feature or something. Can U boot your Modchip in stealth mode? (As soon as the game boots, the mod switched off)

it could be a bad disc.

Yea, the guy I got it from is sending another one out for me to try

I will try turning the chip off as well

If you have a network adapter try unplugging it and booting the game
