I installed my Messiah 2 Pro and it worked fine for a few hours. Then while Playing GTA it froze on the save game screen. Now when I reset sometimes I get a blue screen ( NO video ) and some times I get a black screen. And even some other times I get the Ps2 start up screen, and then black screen. but can't get it to boot at all.

    Any ideals

I check my wires and used heavyer gage for + and Gnd.

Every thing looks clean and neat.

I had this same problem. The suggestions I got were -
Make sure none of your wires are pinched and grounding on the metal shield. And make sure that your M2 chip isnt grounding on the metal shield. Also, make sure the track is cut (on the messiah2)
Im awaiting my results on whats wrong too....

Did you cut your trace on the chip? and did it help?

I just ordered my chip so I would hate to think it was from an old batch.

I have found that with the black screen you generally will hear the laser pounding away and it won't boot. This is could be a result of the media you are using. If you were having problems with the chip or the installation I would suspect you'd see a red screen of death. I have now determined that Recordnow Max at slowest speed is the best way to burn both DVD and CD-r.
    Some basic questions to ask...
What DVDr media are you using?
    What speeds are you reading/writing?
What is the status of CD-r games?

Im waiting to get this PS2 back and I will give you my results. All of the games that I tested (and sent with the PS2) were working fine. It was only after the PS2 was received at its final destination that it decided not to work...

It is not a media problem. I can boot the playstation up without a disk in the machine and get the same thing.

While pushing reset or turning off and on I get the following, with or with out a disk.

Blue screen ( no video )

    Black screen

Playstation logo ( 1st screen ) then lock up Black screen again.
