messiah 2 no psx or dvd movies

I hold reset until blue light, but no go on either. Seems like the console is stuck in ps2 mode, showing dvd movies as a ps2 dvd game and psx games show as a ps2 cd.

Help please

Could be the following problems:

Actel chip is not making contact with the PCB on the SCEX and RST points. I had 1 chip that I had to repair the SCEX leg to the PCB.

make sure u have done the reset point, this is usually the cause of this

I am having the same problem on my version 4 ps2 fitted with a messiah 2 clone. I tried checking the SCEX point last night. Now I guess I need to look at the RST point. Let me know if you have any luck.

You guys rock! The reset wire was on the wrong pin. I changed it and presto, everything works! Thanks for the help.
