I have a ntsc v5 ps2. I have a magic 3.1 i bought a while ago from modchip.ca. I want to get my ps2 chipped from socalmod.com.
I could send him my ps2 with the magic 3.1 i already have and get it modded with the magic 3.1 for $65. OR..................
Buy a messiah 2 V1.30 and get it installed by him for $120.
Is it worth it? Is the messiah 2 that much better? Which is better for a v5? does the magic 3.1 work fine on a v5?

the messiah 2 is more of a safe bet. lot's of people swear by the magic chips though. it seems that the magics only have some trouble with dvd-rips.
what kind like low boot rate?
Trust me, it is more than just dvd rips that give the Magic chips problems. If you don't mind rebooting your console several times to get a disk to boot, the Magic is a cheap solution. However, if you want 100% boot rate......stay very far away from anything Magic and stick with a Messiah 2. You won't regret it.Quote:
