I just posted about the same prob with my first DMS3 install. It was suggested to test points with a multimeter (one end at point on chip, other at solder point) to insure it is making contact. And also check with one end at point on chip and the other at points right next to solder points to make sure they arent bridged by the solder.
where can i get a multimeter and how much are they?
home depot, radio shack, Fry's, etc. Theyre like $10, maybe cheaper (its been a long time since i bought mine). They are also known as continuity checkers (continuity is what you will be checking).
I typed in multimeter at radioshack and tons come, can anyone give me a link?
do psx boot? if so then u got your self a problem on your cd dvd points
Hey Loy, I still havent checked mine for psx boot to see if that is the problem as you suggested. BTW, saw some pics of your v7 DMS3 install loy, nice work!
"do psx boot?" LOY are you talking about burned psx games or regular?
burned
i had this problem. i believe it was the A wire. but i cleaned up and reconnected all the cd-dvd controller points, b and c
retrace all your wires from the point on board to the modchip, you might have a few wires mixed up somewhere
