Messiah 2 chip

I went to fit a Messiah 2 Euro version to my new PS2 in Western Australia via a installer today and when he opened my PS2 he found it to be different to any Version 7 he has modified before. He states he has done numerous conversions on version 7 PS2's and found the main differences to be with my consul is a newer/split bios and a new type/simpler power supply.

I purchased my PS2 three weeks ago and the Model No is SCPH-39002, Serial No FA0410525. (It is an Australian PAL consol)

As a result of what the technician found he did not attempt to fit the messiah 2 non pro version he had as he was unsure if was a version 7 or 8 PS2 or a hybrid late version 7. What he intends to do is purchase a batch of Messiah 2 Pro's and fit one of those.

He assures me that if it is a version 8 PS2 or the later Version 7 the Messiah 2 Pro will work on my consol.

Is what he is telling correct will the messiah 2 pro work on my consol and is my consol a version 7 or 8???

Or is there better mod available or soon to be available that I should buy?

pro or euro makes no difference the deciding factor is the firmware version of the messiah2,printed on sticker on the back of the messiah2?

to identify your ps2 version we need from the motherboard

bios located on chip were mnop qtuvrw are soldered

ghoxx also located on motherboard normally near the official position for the messiah 2

open your ps2 and look on the mobo and look at the bios on it if it says 090 it's a v8

Will have a look. But tell me if my PS2 it is a version 8 can he use the messiah 2 pro in it???

Yes if it's Messiah 2 v1.30.

Sorry to be pain just a couple more questions from a newbie.

1. Is the Messiah 2 pro v1.30 backwards compatable v7 PS2 consoles etc.

2. I heard about a mod chip DMS3 v2.0, which is the better mod this or the Messiah 2 pro version 1.30??

yes backwards compatiblity dms is more expensiver it's more for the experience user
