OK, so I'm attempting the near impossible by installing a Matrix Infinity into the dreaded V3 console. Luckily for me it didn't have the soldered posts or else I'd have to return the damn thing to the customer, but at the moment that is actually the least of my worries.

I've finished soldering everything up, but I can't get it to boot up properly. Upon pressing the Reset button from Standby, I get a black screen and it seems like the PS2 keeps on resetting itself (the eject light is flashing and I hear a noise similar to the one made when you press the reset button). I've checked all points for solder bridges and I can't seem to find any. Granted, I did the install at around 8PM, which is pretty close to my bedtime (yes, I like to sleep early) and in a low light environment, so I was probably only working at 70%.

Anyway, feel free to pipe in any response regarding this matter.

Hello there if you are sure you have soldered everything correctly then make sure there is a controller plugged in before you boot. There will be NO video for plus minus 20 seconds without controller because the infinity is looking for commands from controller. Video will be displayed after 20 seconds if the mod is correct and no controller plugged in. Cheers Mark

I'm pretty sure I got the Reset point right. I even re-did the entire install using the top BIOS chip and still the same results. I took off the chip and everything works fine. Just another thing I noticed, the MI diagrams don't seem to match my motherboard, but the points are more or less the same; dunno if that has anything to do with it.

And I forgot to connect the ground wire at one point and all I got was a blank screen with working reset/eject buttons and LEDs. The second I connected the ground, the problem I described above happens.
