I installed a matrix infinity chip v1.38 on a PS2 v10.
Now only PS1 backups works
DVD's are not loaded. Read error. The PS2 is new.
I can see the infinity logo and I can disable the chip.
What connection causes this behavior?

If you see the inf logo then bios is OK.
check the others
Villasg could you be more specific
v3.3 or ground seems alright because I can come into the chip configuration
s and y to because it reads ps1 backups
a looks good I checked that also with the point on the big chip
b, g an i (pal) are also checked with points on the big chip.
I used tape to isolate the chip from the ground plate.
I removed al the flux of the board. I checked the laser coils.
What have I forgotten, what should have my specific attention?
Sometime I see the logo and some time not.
Im having the same problem right now
Checked all points, power , ground etc, all perfect.
PS1/dvd work with O pressed, PS2 backups DO NOT work(RSD), Firmware upgrades accepted(with reset procedure), matrix infinity watermark appears on PS2 original. Not first time something similar happens, once on a v4 gap bios totally black screen, swaped another infinity, boom it works.
Tomorrow Ill swap chips, somehow Ive come to believe no two infinitys are created equal...
UPDATE: Swapped Infinity's, guess what, now it works perfectly. It was problem with the chip indeed.
Rerute A,B,G,I ... Flat against the board, and over GND plane.Quote:

Ian.
remeber on V10 you have to boot using the eject button NOT the power button
I am also finding allot of yellow dot MI not working at all
This is NOT true. You can boot using both buttons.Quote:

This didn't work btw, even puting them against the board over gnd. Robbertone did you fix your ps2? I have the same version and similar simptoms and can't figure out whats wrong.
