Matrix Infinity observations

Alright everyone, after doing a few Matrix Infinity mods, I've started this to list my observations about the mod.

Overall, it's the new hotness. It rocks with a capital R. We like how it mods the boot logo to show the BIOS version of the Infinity and for quick logo DVD-rips, it replaces the logo with the words Matrix team. V1-V10 is a definite plus for this mod.

Auto-detect is sweet. Just pop your disc in and away you go!

Only thing that the mod did not do as advertise was PS1 stealth. Here is the info on the games tested:

Units: V9 and V10
Mod: Matrix Infiniy with 1.2 flash
Games tested: Spyo 3 CD backup and Dino Crisis US/NTSC original.

Both games booted, but after a while, the dreaded red circle was encountered. Apparently the chip does not do PS1 stealth on V9 and V10 consoles. Not sure if any wires were missed, but we did all the BIOS, DVD controller and all the points on the mod. Well that's our experience, so comparing this against the only other mod currently with region free and macrovision off, you can't go wrong with either the DMS3 or Matrix Infinity. If PS1 stealth is you concern, go with the DMS3. If you want auto-boot without having to force the console into a specific mode, get the Matrix Infinity.

I did email them about these bugs and a few others like the RCE DVD movie bug and this was there reply on 05/29/2004

The RCE protection will be removed in the coming Update, and we will try to add also the Spyro 3 back up and original problem.

Its been quite some time now since I reported this. I hope they get it figured out soon. Or it would be nice anyway.

i did a full review of this mod and all anti-mod psx games dont work.. disappointing.. infinity was supposed to be a great mod.. but if it cant boot anti mod psx games.. then it SuX.

anti mods only work on v9/v10 as stated on the website

Nope dont even work with V9 and V10, I test every Infinity install with spyro 3 and watch it fail every time on the V9's as V10's

hehe i never tried infinity thought i saw precision say it worked and netmech sayign it dind't work. i was thinking on dms3 that stealth only works on v9

HUH?? You never tried infinity? Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but isn?t this your work?

or do you just mean you haven?t tested mod protected PSX games with the infinity?

I've sold LOY Matrix Infinity modchips,
so yea you must have mis-understood him!

He must have meant he never tryed PS1 stealth games!

dms3 doesn't support macro-off anymore.... they removed that from the firmware and the firmware updates.

I have been onboard with the matrix infinity since it first came out, since it had some features that i know customers have been looking for (aka auto-boot and proper media identifier for the browser) but i have heard success and some failure with anti-ps1 titles.
