matrix infinity not booting ps1 games

ok i got a matrix infinity chip installed in my v10 ps2 and it works flawlessly but.. it will not boot a ps1 game at all.. it plays ps2 dvd rom and cd rom games perfect and dvds prefect but not ps1.. i can switch the mod chip off and it boots ps1 games perfect... what ya think? the flash is at 1.0.. there web site has a new flash 1.3 should i flash it or would it be a waste of time and does any one know if the 1.3 flash is better than the 1.0 flash

umm maybe the scex wire is messed up

is that wire only for the ps1 games? i hardly ever play those games but still would like for it to work... what about the flash should i upgrade?

You should upgrade to the lastest firmware. Look what you're getting with the lastest firmware:

Did you try forcing it to boot PSX media by pressing O during boot up?

ok... i did try to hold o down while booting it just goes directly to insert ps or ps2 formatted disk.... i guess my question on the flash was... is there much difference in the flash as i do not have a hdd in my ps2 and dont plan on it so should i upgrade? if it was you would you

Flash it or not it's up to you. I perfer to flash the modchip. It's not like your PS2 will explode if you flash it.
