Mars III MA-502 Questions
Mars III MA-502 Questions –
I have a V5/6 PAL Console (30002R) with a Mars 3 (MA-502) chip installed, I have a few questions about it:
1. Can this chipped be flashed with any bios or firmware upgrade? I read somewhere that it has an onboard flash memory, but I'm not sure.
2. I bought a copy of Gran Turismo 4 from Thailand - it's one of those market copies - and I purchased a few other games with tht as well, GT4 doesn't boot, it just makes the reading noise but never boots. One other game I bought was MC3: DUB Edition, now this wouldn't get past the opening credits, but after reburning it at 4x speed onto a DVD-R, it worked. Now I was wondering if GT4 would boot if maybe I reburnt it? However I don't have a dual layer burner, so I could get a mate to do it for me, but I wanted to know whether it would have the same success as reburning MC3. A friend of mine also has a PS2 chipped, no idea what Version or Chip, but GT4 booted perfectly on his PS2, I was wondering whether it was a chip problem by any chance.
3. I have fairly old PAL only TV, I'm not sure whether it can do PAL 60, but when I play NTSC games I only get it in black and white, na dyes I do know why. But I wanted to know if this is fixable by having different chips, are there chips where you don't get black and white screens if your TV doesn't recognise NTSC signals? Or is it like this with all chips?
All replies appreciated.
u can't flash the mars 502, not that i know of, u can have gran turismo 4 working on it by linking the "1" from mars on the same point "z" on the magic 3 on your mainboard, as for the color use the v5/v6 colour fix present all over the net, i've seen it. u can also use matrix infinity, it automatically fix the color for your system. I hope u can understand this, as i suck on english, regards.
Rang my installer and got some answers:
I don't know about flashing the chip, but with Gran Turismo 4 booting up, apparantly I just need to reburn at 4x.
With the colour fix, it's as simple as 2 pins.
I hope that's all I need to do to play all my games.
