I have Crash Bandicoot: Wrath of Cortex and it's on a regular CDROM (blue disc). If I copy it and put it on a DVDR would it work? (I'm assuming it should work since I'm getting my unit modded) Would that make the game load faster?

If you've never had the original Crash Bandicoot: WoC disc, you don't know how slow that thing loads. It takes around 1.5mins for the menu to load! For the levels it takes 1.5mins to 2mins! So every time you go in and out of a level, it takes around 3mins.

I want it to be faster without have to go with the HDD option.

Errr...have you tried changing the CD driver speed in your system options? (Triangle on boot screen when you don't have a disc in the drive). Just a thought....

If it ain't broke don't try to fix it! But, hell if you can tweak that bastard just a little bit more....hehehe.

That affects everything CD-ROM related? I thought it was only for PS1 games!

I tried that CD Speed thing in the configuration and when I put in Tekken (also blue disc) I heard this loud grinding sound. I was like WTF! Ever since then I've had to tape the inner circle where the spindle grips the disc. From the sound, it was like the spindle was spinning too fast and couldn't hold on to the disc.

Another thing is that, when you set the speed to fast, it doesn't save it. So every time I reset I have to change that setting.

I'll try it out and see if there is any difference.

I agree. If you install it to the HD it loads hella fast compared to the CD. It actually makes the game playable!!
