I know I've read this before, but I haven't been able to figure this out or find the booting instructions for this chip on a v12. All of the instructions I've been able to find mention holding the RESET button until the blue EJECT light comes on. Obviously there isn't a blue eject light on the v12s - but I've tried holding the reset button in for a second or two seconds, but it still doesn't want to boot the PS1 games.

Would anyone happen to know the proper procedure?

Make sure you're burning your ps1 backup properly. Burn it at 8x max and make sure you use some good brand cdr such as ritek, verbatim, or taiyo yuden.

Other than that, you have it correct on how to boot ps1 games. Just hold down the reset button for 2-3 seconds.

Thanks T07N,... I'll try it again. I know the PS1 backup is good, so I'll just fart around with the RESET button some more.

    Cheers!

Just ripped the machine apart and found that the damn SCEX line popped off. I re-attached it and everything boots just fine (holding the RESET button in for 2 seconds for a PS1 game).

    Thanks again T07N

I can see why that happened. The sx point is so little. =)

I had actually soldered it to the cap right next to the via and it ripped the metal side off of the cap. Luckily it still worked.
