MagicV KX+!

Well its 2:20am here, got off work, started installing it @ 1:30am-ish and had 1-3 smoke breaks (can't remember cuz im so tired) but now the ps2 boots my MGS1 PSX Backup, DVD Movies and my Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas PS2 backup perfectly, I don't see how the MagicV KX+ chip is a shitty mod chip (in MANY... MANY people's opinions, so please, unless you have used this chip, dont say it is shit because the Magic3 / 3.1 (in its time) was not that good.

I haven't heard any comments about Magic V KX+ being shitty. All I've been hearing is it does not prevent burnouts like some people were claiming.

i've seen a couple people sayin stay away cuz the magic chips are crap and always will be crap, anywho, i was really tired when i wrote that, i just woke up

gonna play some GTA SA after i throw some stuff in the wash...

I don't think anyone is claiming that the KX+ is shit, but you're missing the point when reading postings critical of Magic. Let's look at the history:

Magic2 <---- shit
Magic3 <---- double shit
Magic3.1 <--- not as bad shit as 3, but still shit

Ever heard the phrase "fool me once, shame on you. fool me twice, shame on me"? That is what most people are saying. After three revs of shit chip forcing the customer to pay for each upgrade, why-o-why would those burned by Magic shit ever give them another chance. KX+ might be the greatest chip ever created, but I will never again use a Magic product in my console.

You'll understand bro if I consider that narrow-minded and petty. I hope you don't judge your friends/family the same way. I've had many of them piss me off.

It's so easy to berate the first generation of magic chips, but dayum... back in the day, they were the bomb. After using NEO's for a year, the Magic was a godsend.

Improvements have been the order of the day, and the magic5 series proved to be solid. Now, the KX is keeping pace.

My final comment...
meyousik - you and I were around (I think you were) for the evolution of the Magic chip. I can tell you that Liquid wasn't. So now you're not judging the KX on its own merit, but on history of another chip that happened to be produced by the same company, and nonetheless slamming it. What good does that do Liquid? Absolutely none.

Magic2, 3, 3.1 are crap.
Magic5 ok but average.
Magic kx ok, but laser burnout issue has been solved by this chip is just fairytale.
