Well, as many people here know, a lot of people (installers especially) are having many problems with the V9 Consoles after chipping them. Here is my conclusion of my MagicV 50K Modded V9 PS2.
Also, I did not use the VIAs for the DVD/CD Controller, I used the legs of the CDX Chip (not as hard as I thought it would be).
PS2 DVD Originals/Backups:
-Final Fantasy X DVD-R Backup: Succesful
-Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty DVD-R Backup: Succesful
-Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty Original: Succesful
-Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec Original: Succesful
-Soul Calibur 2 DVD-R Backup: Succesful
-Around 10 DVDRiP Backups: Succesful
-Final Fantasy VII Original: Succesful
-Parasite Eve Backup: Succesful
-Parasite Eve 2 Backup: Succesful
-No anti-mod game to test, but I am sure it needs to be patched.
-Don't Say a Word Original: Succesful
-The Italian Job DVD-R Backup: Succesful
-Lord of the Rings The Two Towers DVD-R: Succesful
I may as well add that the reliability on this chip is very good. I booted Final Fantasy X DVD-R Backup 25 times in a row just to see how well it was, and I did not get a Red Screen/RSOD once.
I reccomend this chip to ANYONE wanting a cheaper solution than the DMS3, and in my opinion overall, the DMS3 can not be that much better, I don't even think its anymore reliable than this chip. So be smart and stick with the MagicV 50K unless you want HDD support.
