  1. #1 Magic5K6 V10 problem with power on - sometimes(!?) black screen
    cabanoso Guest
I've just chipped V10 vith Magic 5K6, but strange things happen. I turn it on - nothing but black screen. Then I tapped reset few times and it worked. Turned it off (holding reset) and turned back on - still worked. Hard power off for few secs and turned back on - still worked.
Then I unplugged it for a night and in the morning same thing. Started working after 5-10 resets.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem may be?
    Thanks for any help.

I've made them as short as possible, laid Y flat on the board and just to make sure I wrapped extra ground wire around R.
    Looks like it's working now.
    Thanks!

Make sure you check the ground wire.
It should be thicker than the rest (exept for the power wire)
I've had to move the ground up to three times for the video to travel through to the screen

Probelm is solved now. But I still don't get it why ground and power should be thicker. Once the wires conduct current it should work, or not? What is the catch?

The reason there thicker (power and ground), is because they handle ALL the power for mod chip. And from there is divided to the rest of the pionts.

The power wire has "push", so it pushes the power through the chip. All the power the chip uses comes through here. And 3.5/5 V is enough power to use a thicker wire.

The reason the ground has to be big, short, and solid is because its a "drain" (like a bathtub has) , and cannot get clogged at this piont or the mod won't work properly.

So they are thicker because they handle more juice.
