Magic3 w/clip V7 -->Need Help! –

hey everyone-
my friend convinced my to try to put in his brand new Magic3 w/chip clip in his V7. Ive never done a ps2 (psx's are a different story), so i appologize if this question is absurd.
<question>
the Magic3 requires 5 solder points on the underside of the mainboard. On this V7, there is a metal plate (not the one with screws) covering the entire underside of the board with a big heat sync on it. It seems one needs to remove this plate in order to get to the 5 points for the L-Shaped board.
how do i get to these solder points? is this chip not ccompatible with the V7? is there a way to remove the plate?
</question>
any responses/links to other posts would be greatly appreciated

ok now once you unscrew the top plate the bottom plate should new be (note: both top and bottom plate are held together)
once all the screws come out then the bottom heat sink can come off but you may find that it a lil stuck, the rubber melts and it gets stuck the moition engine (cpu) it may take a lils strengh to pull it off but it should come off
cheers

well, that was it!
the rubber was sticking slightly...all it took was some careful pressure applied at the right place. thanks again.
