Magic3 Mod on V3 Pal PS2 Problem HELP please
Magic3 Mod on V3 Pal PS2 Problem HELP please –
i've recently installed a magic3 (3.1) mod on my v3 ps2, last friday to be more precise, and it worked fine till today, when i started noticing the dvd tray wouldn't open but it went back to normal a few minutes later, a few hours later i tried it again and the ps2 simply displays a black screen for a while than starts as if i'm turning it on for the first time, and if i press the reset button it will do the same over and over... how can i fix this? can this be a problem with the chip or the chip installation? should i switch for a messiah2 pro chip? (can i switch?)
tks a lot for any help in advance
It may be that a screw has caught a cable on re-assembly and worked its way through or something like that.
Or the Reset/Eject cable has become unclamped or was damaged.
or a wire has come off, or the chip dislodged.
Something like that.
i'll take my ps2 to the chip installer tomorrow to check it out, i'll post back when i have some news
tks for the reply
I had same sh**ty problem on my v3 pal... Just removed the chip, clean out the mobo with xtremly volatile liquid cleaner ("etere" in italian language) and restart the installation process... Now it's workin fine.
I also have a V3 Pal console with a Magic 3 and i´ve had some install problems 2.. The tray would´nt close and the PS2 overheated.. Thankfully a nice guy on this forum found the solution It was some kind off problem with some flux on the motherboard :s
Was me !!! Flux is cool 4 soldering and shorting pins...
