magic3 freezes -- give up or tweak it ?

i'm getting a magic3 installed in my ps2 and i know know i made a mistake in modchip purchase.

i read this 6 page thread and could not come up with any hard core proven fixes for the freezing issues.

www.freedomlives.com is doing my ps2 mod and if there is anything that will fix the issues i want to know so that i can tell him because i dont want to start playing VC dvd-r backup and find out it freezes in the middle of the game.

so can anyone list the possible modding fixes for this problem ?

should i call him and tell him to hault installing until i get a messiah2 ?

The freezing issue is a problem with the mod chip itself and in most cases wouldn't be the laser, so don't tweak it.
I guess its up to you as to wheather or not you should get it fitted, but if I were in your shoes, I'd opt for the Messiah 2. Then your basically guaranteed that all your games will work without a hitch.

if the problem really is in the chip (in my opinion, its a combination of the chip and some ps2) then that means that I a) have a magic 3.1 (which i doubt since i got it at backup-source and they dont carry 3.1's yet) or b)santa gave me a magical present
