Magic3.1 Question

Ok, I am getting a v7 PS2 in 2 weeks and want to order a chip now, I saw Magic3.1 Chips for $22 shipped @ www.poamods.com

I am hearing (and I have searched but didn't see anything) that the Magic3.1 will really waste the laser unit in the PS2 Consoles, so I should get a Messiah2 instead. I personally have heard very good things about that Magic3.1 though, my friend @ school had some chinese guy at the Pacific Mall chip his PS2 w/ a real red Magic3.1 (Im surprised it was real

) Anyways, is this true about the Magic3.1s really wasting the laser, I always thought it was the media

I have never modded a ps2 with a no swap mod yet, so I dont care about boot rate too much, it is what my customer wants, so I am gonna mod a ps2 with the Magic3.1 (they are payin me some good money for the chip, they suggested the price i said sure because I can get Magic3.1s for $35 canadian including shipping

thanks alot, I have heard that yes the points are close together and SMALL as hell, but if I have installed an Enigmah XBOX Chip (29 Wires) which I have done several times, then the Magic3.1/Messiah2 Pro/DMS3 isn't that much harder to do.

Well, unless you want to see your customer again and again and again complaining about booting issues, I would suggest going with a Messiah 2 instead. Magic chips have serious booting problems.

no not on the v5-v7 those are easy v1-v4 are the hard ones for unexperienced people
