magic3.1 installation problem

i get no electron swirl at all, every connection is perfect, except, i just noticed that the 5V connection on the chip looks like it might be bad, the line from the solder point to the chip looks damaged, and i get no continuancy from the solder point, to that lil silver point it leads to, just need to know if im supposed to get continuancy there?, and if so, can i solder directly to that if the solder point is bad. thnx

-resolved, thnx for the info, i soldered to that other point and got it working, everything boots, i was getting freezes on some games, but reburned on diff media and works great now

Well for no electron swirl, you need to set your date and time. Somehow during installation it got reset.

Now, yes, you should have contact from the power to that point on the chip. Which is pin #3 on the left and pin #1 on the right side of the chip.
