Anyone knows of sympthoms for distorted sound after installation of Magic2 on V5 ?
I'm kind of lost ...:
Maybe a short on 1 of the BIOS pins.
You possibly ran the A wire or the R wire over some ICs related to Sound. Or the GND wire which may also not have been thick enough (22 awg)
I heard about problems like yours.
It seemed that was the CLK wire which was too long...

Hi everyone !
First let me thank you all for your responses ...![]()
I have de soldered ALL points and took the Magic out but the problem still exists: Right from the beginnig the soud is destorted.
PLEASE, do you have any other ideas ?
oops sorry, I thought you have a messiah 2. There is no CLK poi,t on Magic2 chip. Sorry

Help me, I'm Lost !!!
I'll give some more details about the sound distortion problem:
First I soldered all points and forgot to solder the PAL jompers on the Magic 2 card (The PS2 I worked on is pal) - When I tried to load I got the message "Please insert a PS2 disk" - I don't remember the sound.
After that I soldered the PAL jompers and when I turned it on the problem was there . Is it connected?
PROBLEM FIXED - SOUND IS BACK TO NORMAL !!!!
Just for the next people with this problem (Sound distorted) :
You need to go over the whole board with a magnifying glass and look for left overs - small ball solders and little wires - you need to be very PATIENT and remove them all.
Hope this helps you,
RST
The best tool for PS2 modding is a magnifying glass >8x.
The absolute tool
