Magic V on a version 9 PS2.. games not loading. –

not sure whats going on.. followed the diagram precisely (from modchip.ca)..
the ps2 boots up.. gets into the intro scene or the browser menu. but when i put dvd game in. it doesn't load? it seems to read but nothing appears on screen. teh instructions on the diagram on how to load games.. are pretty simple and don't seem to have any hidden tricks to loading burnt games.
it also has the same problem loading regular games too. i kind of new to this.. but which wires are the DVD/CD Controller wiring?
as well. during my mod.. the dvd-rom wire came out... it was near impossible to solder the backside while hooked into the back of the board. it came out automatically. but i put it back in.. made sure it stuck in properly.
any hints? thx in advance.

are you saying you did not disconnect the ribbon cable between the laser lens sled and the MB when trying to solder to the back??
you may have damaged the cable or socket as a result!
note - on the MB side - you gently lift the brown plastic clamp - on the sled side if that comes loose - you need to unclip and slide out the brown clamp and then with both just slide the cable into place and clamp it down with the brown plastic piece in reverse to how you lossened it...
As to the points you asked for - I posted a picture in the other thread.

what i am sayin is that that the brown cable connecting to the motherboard and the laser lens sled came out. it doesn't seem damaged or anything..
so if it came out... i just put the cable back into the sled right? the white piece on the ribbon is supposed to be facing downwards towards the sled, right?
thanks for the help in advance.
the picture you showed me is a bit different from the magic V pic from modchip.ca. my bcdefghi solder points are on the back of the board. on that diagram.. i had the put the wires into these small holes and then soldered. but umm.. if i i messed up on the via points... can i do it like the way you did in your diagram?
here'es the pic
