well i did use a 'clip' for the bios connections. I know i know, everyone here hates clips! anyhow games work so thats all i care about. the logo is the least of my worries.
on a side note, is there an alternate y point. my y pad lifted off the board, but i was able to keep the lead to chip secure and the pad itself with some hot glue. My iron was too hot and the damn pad lifted right up after i soldered the Y lead. I guess one alternative would be to solder to the chip pin on the ps2 for which Y corrosponds.
another side note on the clip, to anyone that even thinks about using them - stay away fromthe BGA board connecter. If your gonna use the clip, use it for BIOS only. if you ever try to remove a bga board you'll see what i mean, and it will be too late!
the garbled logo is part of the logo patching routine. NTSC machines have had this prob for a while. PAL machines display it perfectly.My JAP ntsc machine has garbled logo with some games and greyscale logo with other games.
