Magic 5 KV+ and Someones Fix

Does this combination sound good to you guys?
i have PSTwo with the 303 resistor inputs on the Laser Control Op AMps.

Has anyone done this mod? and how did it turn out?

If the system boots up fine but won't read disks at all, would that mean the chip is in wrong?

The KX+ with the summ0ne is a great combination.

The fact the unit boots up is not indicative of anything. Without a laser installed, it'll boot up to the browser screen. The question is what does it boot up to? To the browser, or to the red screen? Red screen would be a better indicator of a badly installed chip, while the browser screen would suggest a laser issue.

it looks like a laser problem.
Browser boots perfect. Just no disc read.

anyone have a pic of a clouded laser? or Burnt Laser?

If you want to know if it is the laser or not then take the mod off then try reading games again.

Better yet, I would try to take summ0ne's fix off first to see if that's causing the problem.

have everything removed, and it is the same....

Sherlock Holmes' powers of deduction say, It is fried laser.

time to go find the bill... and bring it in for an exchange.
