I installed a Magic 5 k6 on a PS2 50004 v10 PAL. After that, when I turned it on, a noise was heard from the CD-ROM and no CD was spinned. I have video signal, the laser is working, but the CD-ROM is dead. The Eject and Reset functions are working. The main problem is that after I removed the cip, the CD-ROM is still not working. From 3 PS2, just one is working fine with this chip, the others present the same simptom after the installing.
If anybody knows something about that or give some clue how to
    fix/"resuscitate" my PS2, I would apreciate.
I think the problem is the chip programming

from what you have said i don't think it's the chip. it sounds like bad installation because if one ps2 worked with this chip then why wound't the same chip work on the other ps2?

is not the same chip. I have 4 and just one of the is working. The other 3 present the same simptoms. I didn't try to put the good one on the broken PS2 because the PS2 is not working anymore.
