It has been tested, Magic3 indeed works with DVD9 Movies, booted first time everytime. I don't know if it works with DVD9 Games... but if it boots DVD9 movies it might boot DVD9 games as well.
I'm getting XenoSaga next weak and i will do a full review.

All the modchips work with DVD9 movies. That's why there's the longer hold boot method to prevent the BIOS patching or event recognition from occurring.
So thanks for the info but we still have to try DVD9 game; No doubt you'll get in before me with the Xenosaga test as my chip is in transit to me.

I didn't know
I will only get Xenosaga by the end of the weak or even later... its JAP Import.

The race is on! I'm having my US PS2 specially wired to bring 26 or so wires out to a socket; We will then wire whichever chip to the associated plug and voila. Let's hope there aren't too many new solder points to worry about!

Do you know if we can play XenoSaga well? Because of all that Jap text... i've ordered the game to test with Magic 3 but if i could play with it, that would be nice

Absolutely not. You're playing completely blind! General McArthur should have sorted that out back in 1945!

I can also confirm that Magic 3 work with "Spyro Dragon" for PS1, this is a mod protected game! But the game i've tried is Silver and not original, it makes some difference, charlie?

The game will boot fine, but at some point it will inform you that you're playing with a mod and proceed to place heavy restrictions on the gameplay (though I don't remember exactly what they are).
