MAGIC 3 sleep mode

can you turn off a Magic 3 chip, or put it into sleep mode to play online games with the original disc?

have to upgrade it to the magic 3.1 code with a programmer.....it MIGHT be possible to boot in ps1 mode, and if it's a dvd media game, the chip will do nothing thinking it's a dvd movie?

press and hold reset for 5 seconds.
