Magic 3 S Point
Is the Magic 3 S point similar in function to the Messiah 2 SCEx point?
The two points appear to be close to each other.

The reason I ask I because I'm haveing probs with a Magic 3 install. Given my problems (Originals work but PS1 & PS2 backups don't...red screen of death for backups), the M2 trouble shooting guide instructs me to look at the SCEx and/or bios pins.
My bios pins look good, but I removed them, desoldered them with braid, and resoldered them just in case.
Unfortunatlely, after I reassembled to test, my 15watt Ratshack iron went out on me so I'm done for the night. But I'm now wondering if I should check the S point on my install, and if there' an alternate location for the S point.
I know, I know Magic 3 sucks, but it's not my chip or my machine. I'm just doing the install for someone who bought a M3 (for $80 even - ouch! wish they'd talked to me first).

The "S" point is for PS1 backups from my understanding. Don't think it has anything to do with PS2 backups.

both s and scex both mean the same
the s or scex is for ps1 backups only
cheers:cool:
