magic 3 probs on version 7

okay i have been reading many posts on peoples magic 3 not playing backups but i can not find a straight answer to why.

my prob is my ps2 plays origionls but not backups. I have been reading about the r and w wires having different solder points or something. I used the diagram from www.modchip.ca. all the points are perfectly soldered.

help please.

are u using big enough wires for power and ground

yep big enough wires. there from a ribbon cable from a computer. (ide cable)

cd backsups and dvds?

it plays all originals but I only tried cd backups and gets the pink screen

I dont have any dvd backups

check that the wires are connected to the correct points

Hi,
Older style IDE ATA33 cables are 28ga and the newer 80 conductor IDE cables are 32ga so even if you are using the older 40 cunductor style it may be starving the chip. If that is all you have to use then try using a second strand between the same points ( double up ). Most of the install guides say to use 22ga on the +5v and GND points.
