    The chip uses 5v power right ? but the 5v solder point on the offical install diagrams only gives out 2.5 v and when i installed the chip it did not work. it even blow a fuse on the board i then changed to another point that gives out 5volt and everything worked fine.
    anybody that have had similar problems ?

    it´s a V7 pal console

    I have to say that the 5v point shown in the linked diagram is indeed 5v. I couldn't get into www.china-magic.com. Which diagram did you use to get a 2.5v point? A link would be useful.

    this one and the point marked 5v on it´s a brand new pal ps2 v7
    it has black stripes on the power supply.

    I've done several v7 Mods using that same point. It's 5v when I last measured it, though I prefer to solder to the leg of the chip below the diode that just to the right of it.

    Higher gauge wire tend to stick better to that leg versus the point in the diagram.
