Any one know if these 2 chips are compatible withthe Ver. 4 date code 1b scph-30001?
I saw some stuff about it working with the V4r and also possible bios code 010 support. Does the V4 1b ps2 have a 010 bios?
How would I found out.
Thanks

No, the V4 1B does not have 010 bios. From what I know that bios was found only on US ntsc V2 consoles. To answer your question, yes... both Magic 3 and Messiah 2 are compatible with the V4 1B version PS2. As for which is better? I don't know for sure but it seems to me that the shut-off capabilities of the Messiah 2 might give it the edge. In addition, Magic 2 along with its clones had some DVD9 issues. The Messiah2 does not, however, these issues might have been resolved with the release of the Magic 3.
