  1. #1 Question Magic 3 installed on v5 PS2 Discs won't load
    NoNaym Guest
I'm new to modding PS2's and have just completed a pretty clean installation of a Magic 3 chip on my v5 PS2 complete with thicker guage wires for he ground connection and +5v connection. The PS2 is turning on and desplaying fine picture and sound, yet when i insert a disc nothing happens. I check the browse tab and it says either no data, or no disc, and that it is "...reading." To sum it up, after installing my Magic 3.1 chip on my PS2 it cannot read discs any more. I tried the alternate W solder point and still no luck reading discs. Does anybody have any ideas of what could be wrong here? Certain solder points? Plugs not securely in place? PLEASE HELP.

    Thanks in advance!

make sure your bios points match on the board and chip touch each point with your multimeeter one on board point and the chip point on continuity. if you get a no beep then your wires are swaped. also make sure ther are no briges on the bios points. Test once more it its still a no go.. then remove all wires and clean points with wic test and make sure all is working DVD movie,dvd/cd game and controler ports and memory card slots. IF all is good give the install anoter try.. I hope you didnt pay over $4 for that magic chip
