Magic 3 install S - Point
Magic 3 install S - Point –
I installed a magic 3 (with no clip) last night and everthing went very well. I had a small problem with the S point however. When attaching the wire to part Y (reference attached picture) the side being soldered popped off the the motherboard. I was only using a 15 watt iron and barely touched part Y, it seemed like the part was was forced into place when it was originally soldered. I tried to push part Y back down to the motherboard but i could not get a readout of a connection on my multimeter. So i looked at the circits on the motherboard an noticed the there was a direct link from part Y to part Z (reference attached picture). I then decided to use a smatt peice of wire to directly connect part Y and part Z.
Has anyone else ever run into anythin else like this.
Also i wanted to thank everyone on the PS2Newz Forums for all the great information you provided me. I never could have done it without your help.
Also on the picture attached, Red Lines equals wires
Good call Barclay. I routinely bridge this point with solder, thus reducing the chances of burning it away as you and many others (including me) have done before.
