    Hi

nice site , lots of info.

I installed a magic 3 in a version 5/6 with the bios clip only. It will play original ps2 and ps1 games but not backed up ps1 games.( no data, install ps1 or ps2 game) I have not tried any DVD backed up games yet.( in the process of setting up to burn) I have checked all connections several times and tested the clip with the clip tester. Continuity to all points is good.
Are there some connections that would case this problem and should be rechecked again?
When playing backed up ps1 games will they boot even if they are cracked for the ps 1 console with the stealth chip or should they be just a direct copy with no crack?

    Thanks

I checked the clip with the clip tester and all points were good. Controller points? Do you mean the points under the pcb? There was no clip for that.
Should patched ps1 games boot no problem?

    Thanks

With the clip tester all points check good V,U,T,R,Q,P,O,M,N. The only thing I noticed after reading some threads is that the wire supplied by modchip.ca is too small for the +5v connection. This is what I used . Could beefing up the wire make the difference. I have been getting nothing but errors when trying to ask a question through the modchip.ca knowledge network.

    Thanks

    Thanks

Saw this on another site about the Magic 3 modchip, and I printed it out because I have a Magic 3 on order from Genomods:

For ps1 games and DVD movies, power up from STANDBY with RESET button held until the blue EJECT light comes on; then release RESET and the disk will boot.

Tried this. No go. I think I will order the magic 3 clip kit and install that. Should eliminate some possible problems. Also all the wires are bigger would this make a difference??

    thanks
