Recently I got two PS2 machines modded with magic 3s.

When I put a game in machine #1 at the browser screen it would never boot. I have to press the reset button on the PS2 before it would work.

When I put a game in machine #2 at the browser screen it would read it just fine. No reset needed.

As I do not have machine #2 anymore, does anyone here have any thoughts as to why this happens? Right now I'm playing Dynasty Warriors 3 XL and when I try to load the original DW3 non XL disk, it would never work. I think this is because of the problem I mentioned above with the machine not reading the disk unless I press reset.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

I found that Press Reset was normal magic 3 behaviour.

Which is why I find it odd. I didnt really care about it till now because all my games worked fine.

Now when DW3:XL asks me to put in the original DW3 disc, it would either never recognize saying it's not the correct disc or it doesnt read it at all.

Has anyone here tried DW3:XL and managed to load the original DW3 and getting it to work?

    Just to clarify things...

Magic3 will boot directly (no reset) on V4 units (not V4R).

Any other model require reset to load PS2 games. Movies, PS1 games and Audio CD's run without reset (PS1 games obviously on PS1 mode )

    Greets!
