Magic 3.6 + Music Skipping & Freezing

I have a v7 ps2 w/ a magic 3.6 mod chip. My DVD-R backups boot fine but sometimes they freeze when loading the next level or scene.

Also when it plays background music the music begins to skip.

Would this be a problem with the laser azimuth?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

sounds like a laser or a media issue

Media is okay it works fine in 3 other modded ps2s.

I too think its the laser but not sure what I should adjust to help with the problem

read one of charlie's guides, there are two little screw type pots on the bottom of the laser unit for every ps2 console. I personally think noone should mess with the pots unless you ABSOLUTELY need to.

Got it, ended up being the DVD pot resistor. Works like a charm now. Thanks
