magic 3.5 ---- hELP!
ok..
i got a magic 3.5, tried to install it using both crappy clips. turn on the ps2 == aint nothin on the TV...
ok then, i tried manually solderin the points from the BGA board. did that, turn on the ps2 == aint nothin on the TV....
w t f.
im pretty sure i plugged in the clip correctly for the bios , i used that cheap clip tester, all the points give the red light.
i really dont want to manually solder the bios points... they are so close together and so tiny... ugh
anyone have any suggestions? could it be some other solder point thats causin this problem? and i know there are heatin issues with this crappy magic chip, what can i do to fix that? some people said to use thermal tape?? what the heck is taht, i've never seen it.. can u get it radio shack?
right.. and.. what do you guys use to keep the wires in place on the board... i've seen ppl use glue... what kind of glue? i used tape.. regular scotch tape..
thanks
plz reply... im friggin  mad  at this cheap crappy chip.

Most likley it is the BGA clip that is causing the problem so many have come through here in the past 2 weeks for repair from people that tried to install it. Those pads can rip off easy if you are not carefull! If there is NO VIDEO NO SOUND check the BGA clip. If you PS2 boots and no backups boot most likley it is a Bios clip problem.

i got rid of the BGA clip and soldered the points manually
still no luck, as u said -- no video no sound
i removed the modchip all together (just unhooked the clips from the modchip and left everythin inside) and turned on the PS2.. my original PS2 game loaded fine, i was very relieved.
anyone have the solderin points for the BGA clip? maybe i made a mistake on that.
a diagram would be appreciated.
thanks!

to add on to my previous msg, my original Gran Turismo 3 works fine. ( so actually, the modchip is kinda useless right now )
