magic 3.1 not playing music cds or cd-rs

i installed a magic 3.1 on a v7 and it is playing ps1,ps2 cd-r backups and originals,but it is not playing backed up dvd-r or music cds or music cd-rs.my dvd-r i tried using was a memorex with prassi primo program and i was told to use ritek so i ordered 100 of them last week and will give them a try when i get them.any help would be greatly appreciated.THANKS

Did you tried to watch the DVD in the proper mode? (IE by booting the PS2 from standby in PSX-DVD mode by pressing and holding the RESET button until the blue light turn on) Try it if you haven't. Or you can simply turn off the Magic 3.1 to watch your DVD or listen to music cd by booting from stanby by pressing the RESET button for more than 6 seconds.

i went home and tried booting the music cd and cd-rs in ps1 mode and they worked.they just wouldnt work in ps2 booting mode.a movie dvd works also its just the backed up game dvd-r didnt work and still hasnt.but im about to burn on ritek media and then ill get back.im also going to try to turn off the magic and see if it plays the dvd and music cds.THANKS

If it doesn't boot the drd-r's you may want to use the alt. (W) point. I had the same problem and I switched the (w) point and it works just fine.

nathaniel are you talking about backed up dvds or backed up ps2 dvds?
