I have a magic 3.1 with a slight problem. If you look at the picture you can see a piece pointed to by the arrow, I'm missing that on my chip. Can it still function if there is a a piece of wire soldered where the piece originally was?

Would this harm my v7 in anyway?

If your chip isn't the same... it just might be a clone. If you're missing solder points, you've got a problem (I'd return the chip) but if you just have cosmetic differences, you've got a clone.
ALLERGY ALERT: The above post may be nuts.
