magic 3.1 booting backup's

Hi, I've gotten the chip installed and originals boot up, but not backups. also got a rip burned at 4x verbatim, doesnt' work, and the ps1 backups no go.. all on just cd's no dvd. what maybe the problem? could it be not using a thick wire for the 5v connection?
i have a V4 Gap model

for ps1 games, turn it in psx mode

burn at the lowest speed, might help

Are you sure the Mod-chip isn't turned "off"

well i put in the game, and for ps1 mode i hold on to reset till blue light turned on, also held onto until the red screen came on.. so no go there... if it's asleep... how can i turn it on??

check your +5v and GND connections, sounds like the chip isn't getting any power

make sure u're booting everything and check your points and do wat liquid says

ok,.. maybe i'll use a thicker wire for both of those points. thx for the help and i'll get back with the results.
