    For contact MNOP on the bios, can they be done on the underside of the board. Are they the same exact contacts on top of the motheboard on the bios? And if done on the other side what are the common problems associated with doing so. And have you personally done it this way? I was planning to do it on the underside, and then using electrical tape so that it doesn't touch the metal shielding piece when you put the ps2 together, and cough cough so that it doesnt fall apart.

    Yes, it's no problem using that pads ...
    Still you HAVE to connect the R wire on the place is said on the diagram. It's because the upper rom is mapped to a diferent memory area than the lower chip and the R point is the chip select signal.
